The Middle School Faith Formation Program is fully experienced in 3 years:
Year A: The Eucharist and Jesus the Christ.
Year B: God, Revelation, and Faith and The Holy Spirit and the Church.
Year C: Sacraments and Prayer and Christian Morality and Justice.
In addition to the Sunday Night Faith Formation Program (EDGE), the Middle School Youth Ministry Program sponsors events throughout the year to develop the youth’s leadership and social skills while continuing to learn about their faith and how to put their knowledge into action. Such events are:
Friday Night on the Edge (FNOTE): this takes place every 1st Friday of the month at the parish from October to April. Each night will focus on an aspect of our faith and will allow youth to explore these areas through games, community dynamics, service opportunities and small group discussions.
Archdiocesan Events: The Quest, Peacemakers, Jr. High Youth Rally, and Extreme Challenge. These events bring the youth of the entire Archdiocese together allowing them to recognize church and community outside of our own parish walls. These events focus on developing the spiritual life of our youth and teaching them leadership skills they can put into action at their parish.
Retreats: Advent Hay Ride and Fish and a Movie during Lent will give our pre-teens an opportunity to reflect upon two important seasons of our Liturgical Year, Advent and Lent, in an environment and setting that will help them explore their faith in new ways. The Winter Retreat will be in January and it is bound to be filled with opportunities for prayer, games and community building.
Volunteers are needed to help lead each event. Please consider becoming a volunteer. For more information, please check out Edge Team.
